The Italian Language Center (IACE), in collaboration with the Italian Cultural Institute in New York, offers online and in-person classes for students of all levels. Classes meet once a week, have maximum 10 students, and are taught by qualified native Italian teachers.
To assess your level, complete the PLACEMENT TEST
All courses are aligned with the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR), the global standard for grading language proficiency and they are internationally recognized.

Find answers to common questions about our Italian language classes.
How do I register for a class?
To enroll, select a course and click on the Register button. You will be redirected to the course page; click on Add to Cart > View Cart > Proceed to checkout, where you may pay either by using PayPal or credit card.
If you have never studied Italian before please select one of the “A1.1 Absolute beginner” classes. All other students are encouraged to take our Placement Test.
Are there any discounts?
Buy one class, get second 20% off:
For students who wish to attend 2 10-week classes: use the coupon code “SECOND” at checkout to get the discount. Please note that this promotion is not valid for 5-week classes and for absolute beginners, as students have only one class they can attend (level A1.1).
Are materials included in the course fee?
Yes, all necessary materials are included in the course fee. For in-person classes, you will receive the textbook during the first lesson. For online classes, you will receive access to digital resources the week prior to the beginning of classes.
Can I switch classes after enrolling?
Yes, you can switch classes within the first week of the course, subject to availability. Contact us for assistance.
Is there a refund policy?
After the second class we only allow change of levels (upon availability) but there will be no refunds, nor can we give credit for a later semester. We cannot be flexible on this policy, regardless of whether the course is attended or not.
When are classes offered?
Classes are offered four times a year:
Winter term: January – April (10 weeks)
Spring term: April – June (10 weeks)
Summer term: July, August (5 weeks)
Fall term: October – December (10 weeks)
All classes meet once a week for 1 hour 25 minutes, and are taught by certified and experienced native Italian teachers. The maximum number of students per class is 10.
