How did Italian become Italian? In this five-week course, taught entirely in Italian, students will explore some of the key turning points in the history of the language: from Latin and the early vernaculars to Dante, through the Renaissance, until it becomes the language of the Italia Unita born in the 19th century. Ideal for students at the B2–C1 level and above who want to strengthen their language skills
while discovering the complex, multilayered history behind the Italian they have been learning.
