What is the Summer Program?

Every year the Italian American Committee on Education (IACE) invites all schools that have an Italian program in the states of  New York, New Jersey and Connecticut who have paid the $100 IACE Membership to participate in the IACE Summer Program.

Italian teachers in schools/districts affliated with IACE  may choose up to 2 (MAX) of their best students in Italian language programs to enter the contest. Those students will submit individual multimedia projects written in Italian (with the help of their Italian teachers), such as videos, slide shows or written articles. IACE will choose the top 20 best projects. Those students will become recipients of the IACE Summer Program: a scholarship trip to study Italian in Italy for 2 weeks. The only expenses to be borne by the participants will be the airfare from New York to Italy.  We will purchase all airline tickets at a group discount - please note that the tickets are not refundable (no exceptions).

The Director of the IACE Summer Program, Professor Valentini, will accompany the winners along with an additional IACE Italian teacher. Every morning of the trip the students will indugle in Italian langauge lessons just before exploring some of Italy's most beautiful and enchanting locations.

WE ARE HAPPY TO ANNOUNCE THAT THE SUMMER PROGRAM OF 2010 WILL TAKE PLACE IN MACERATA (MARCHE REGION) FROM JULY 11th TO JULY 24th THANKS TO OUR SPONSOR, THE PROVINCE OF MACERATA.
