IACE Students Interview with General Consul of Italy
|
Forty-six IACE students, in occasion of the projection of "Closing Time,
Storia di un negozio" (Winner Best Short Documentary Atlanta Film
Festival), interviewed On. Antonio Bandini General Consul of Italy and
the director Veronica Diaferia, on December the 5th. The event was held
at the Casa Italiana Zerilli Marimo' where our little "Giornalisti per
un giorno" (from different IACE Schools and Centers) asked funny and
clever questions to our special guests |

"Caccia al Tesoro" at the IACE Children Library
32 Students from High Point Regional High School, Long Island with
their teacher Josephine Aiello (IACE teacher) visited the IACE Children Library
for a special "caccia al tesoro"! There were games and riddles written in Italian to be solved by the students in order to find clues for the treasure!

"Progetto Scuole"
|
We are pleased to inform IACE members that the
"progetto scuole" website,
www.progettoscuole.org,
has been upgraded with new sections and
services. We are very pleased about the site's
new look and hope you will enjoy it! |

"La grande Spalmata": interview with Gigi Padovani
Fifty-five
students from different IACE centers and schools, interviewed Gigi
Padovani, author of best-seller "Nutella: Un mito Italiano" at the
Italian Cultural Institute in New York City. The little "giornalisti
per un giorno", by asking many questions, learned a lot about the birth
and history of our Nutella!

"Painting, Music and Italian"…at Regione Campania
 |
The event was held at "La Regione Campania" where the IACE students (elementary/highschool
level) attended several art/music workshops "Dipingiamo la Musica" in
Italian with Caterina Arciprete (an emergent Italian artist from Naples)
and two well-known Italian musicians and composers Carlo Pastore and
Alessandro Accardi. |
IACE Professional Development Workshops
"The Narration: from the Textbook to Theatrical Production"
Three days of full-immersion workshops for teachers of Italian were
organized by IACE in collaboration with the Education Office of the
Consulate General on November 2nd, 3rd and 4th and held at Italian
Cultural Institute. The seminars were taught by educators and
instructors coming from Italian Universities and Institutions, Claudia
Boselli and Mirtilli Morgana with proven experience and competence in
the most advanced educational strategies in the field of foreign
language instruction. |

Training
for IACE New Teachers
|
|
Two training sessions for new IACE teachers (afterschool elementary level) will be held at Centro Raccontami on
January 12th and 19th.
The sessions will be conducted by Ilaria Costa and Katia Tennyson. The
participants will be exposed to didactic strategies and useful teaching
activities that can be used in a FLES program.
