Carmela Pesca from Central Connecticut State University's and IACE Board Member presented her topic ''Reading Comprehension & Cultural Understanding'' at the COLT conference for language teachers in Hartford Connecticut.

We thank her for her dedication to the language and for her informative presentation.

 

EVENTS


  La Piazza Italiana 

On October the 21st IACE in collaboration with the Italian Cultural Institute of New York organized a special event to celebrate ''La Settimana della Lingua''', which was a week dedicated to the international recognition of the Italian Language.

Students who participated in the 2008 IACE Summer Program in Italy met and interviewed Amara Lakhous - author of ''Scontro di civiltà per un ascensore a piazza Vittorio'', one of the most renowned contemporary Italian writers.

  IACE Students & Cristiana Pegoraro

Cristiana Pegoraro, a well known Pianist throughout Europe and recently published author of a book of poems called ITHAKA, performed at DiCapo theater while IACE students from LaGuardia High School, Danielle Gonzalez, Zelda Gay, Iyvon Edebiri, and Ariana Nicoletta presented her poems.

Opera for Kids at DiCapo Opera Theatre

VIP tour at the MET

A VIP tour of the Morandi exhibit will be given at the Metropolitan Museum of Art by Prof. Miracco, Director of the Italian Cultural Institute.

The students will act as ''Piccoli Giornalisti per un giorno'' asking questions about the art and the aesthetics of Morandi’s work.
