Welcome to IACE!

The Italian American Committee on Education (IACE) is a New York based non-profit organization founded in 1975 for the purpose of promoting the study of the Italian language and culture within the tri-state area of New York, New Jersey and Connecticut.

The IACE program is made possible primarly through an Italian Government grant and it operates under the supervision of the Consulate General of Italy in New York.

IACE activities include:

  • Financial support for public and private schools to initiate or enhance an Italian language program.

  • Educational assistance and financial support to individual and community organizations to offer afterschool courses of Italian for students from ages 18 months to adult.

  • Workshops for professional development in partnership with Italian and U.S. Educational Institutions.

  • Library services and lending material available at the Italian Resource Center in Connecticut.
    Site: www.ccsu.edu/Italian and in New York City at the IACE Children's Library hosted at Centro Raccontami.

  • Student exchange and summer programs in Italy for schools and educational organizations affiliated with IACE.

  • Professional translation and interpretation services.
