Language Center Grant (Indirect Centers)

An Indirect Language Center may apply for an IACE Grant if they are located  the New York, New Jersey and Connecticut area where Italian Language education is in need and there is sufficient interest. Monetary funds to assist independent and private Italian language centers can reach up to $8,000.

 
 
Responsibilities:

As coordinator in cooperation with the Executive Director of IACE, you will provide overall administration of the center, such as:

  • organize at least two meetings per school year with the teachers, preferably at the beginning and at the end of the course;
  • provide teachers with adequate material (curriculum guides, books, cassettes, etc.) which can be borrowed from IACE;
  • review syallabi, roster and lesson plans completed by the teachers;
  • issue the IACE Certificate of Completion at the end of the course;
  • is responsible for materials assigned to the center (TV set, computer, books, tapes and videos). In the event that the center is discontinued, the coordinator is responsible for returning all IACE property.

  

Please note that participation from teachers and coordinators is mandatory for periodical events/workshops organized by IACE and the education office of the Consulate General of Italy in New York, as well as attendance to the IACE General Assembly each year.
